Each year, the Friends of the California State Fair Scholarship Program awards California’s most promising students with scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000. This year the Friends of the California State Fair Scholarship Program will proudly award over $34,000 in scholarships to deserving California Youth. Our awards are earned by college students and graduating high school seniors who exhibit academic excellence, leadership potential, civic engagement and a strong sense of personal commitment to continuing education. Recipients study a broad range of academic studies, which are reflected with awards in agriculture, animal science, arts, business, culinary, education, enology, event planning, fair industry, international studies, teaching credential programs, viticulture and past exhibitors of the California State Fair.
The Friends of the Fair Scholarship Program was initiated in 1993 and is a collaborative effort of the Friends of the California State Fair, the California Exposition & State Fair and the California State Fair Agricultural Advisory Council. Major yearly contributors to the fund include Bob & Beverly Gilbert, Ironstone Concours D’Elegance Foundation, Blue Diamond Growers, Western Fairs Association, and The California Milk Advisory Board. If you or your organization would like to donate or have an interest in being a major contributor to the scholarship fund, please contact our scholarship coordinator Jake Rowe at 916-263-3636 or jrowe@calexpo.com.
