Friends of the California State Fair
How would you like to meet outgoing, fun-loving people, volunteer for interesting activities year-round and help support the biggest entertainment venue in Northern California?
The Friends of the California State Fair (“the Friends”) is the official volunteer organization of the California State Fair. The mission of the Friends of the Fair is to promote public awareness and support for the California Exposition & State Fair. As a charitable non-profit volunteer organization, the Friends serve as year-round ambassadors for the California State Fair and all its related programs.
As a Friend, you will help us give the State Fair a human face through people power. During the Fair, you will act as an Ambassador for the Fair by staffing information booths, assisting with the competitive programs and serving as a host at special events. Our distinctive and colorful shirts are recognized and respected all over the Fairgrounds, and our role continues to grow.
In the spring and fall, you will be invited to participate in Cal Expo’s award-winning agricultural and educational program, while also working in various administrative capacities to help plan for the upcoming State Fair.
Scholarship Program
In addition to our State Fair volunteer activities, the Friends are proud to spearhead an annual youth scholarship program that awards many thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships to California Students each year. In 2012, the Friends of the State Fair scholarship program will award $34,000 to deserving students.
